Heavy duty towing has been around for some time, in fact, the story dates back to 1916, when a local driver lost control of his Ford Model T, plunging it into Chickamauga Creek in Chattanooga. The local city serviceman Ernest Holmes Sr. heard about the accident and took a few men, the men spent the next eight hours working to remove the car from the creek.

The men quickly realized they needed to try something else. Not long after, with the help of two friends, Holmes Sr, L.C. Decker, and Elmer Gross together built a wrecker. Like many inventions, the first attempt was unsuccessful. After slightly improving the wrecker, it soon after succeeded. Holmes then came up with an idea, not only would he help those who needed help when they drove up, but Holmes could now go out and help people when and where they needed him.

And thus Heavy duty towing was born. A tow truck is defined as a truck used to move disabled, improperly parked, or otherwise unused motor vehicles. The need for a tow truck varies, this may mean recovering a vehicle damaged in an accident, returning the vehicle to a safe area, or transporting one via flatbed to a shop for repair or another place.

Whatever the need of a tow truck may be, finding a trusting company can be difficult. Some towing companies are not reliable, very few are timely, have the right equipment, and or have the ability to tow just about any vehicle imaginable. A good company to partner with is Spanky’s Wrecker, a company that has served in the state of Texas for over 20 years.

Spanky’s Walker is a reliable and professional company that knows the towing business in and out. As a locally owned and operated company in the southeast, service is available almost all day long. The company tows a variety of vehicles, from motorcycles to 18 wheeler’s, Spanky’s Wrecker gets the job done. Don’t hesitate to get the help you need.
